Why We’re Doing This

My name is Carter, I started this with three of my closest friends: Gavin, Alex, and Dennis. I got this idea after doing some work on the side for a local woman. She had recently gotten surgery and needed someone to just clean, cook, and organize her house as she prepared to make a possible move into a retirement community. It was one of the most fulfilling jobs I’ve ever had, I was helping someone and they were helping me.

After I brought in 3 of my closest friends and we decided to see how many people we could help. It was a way for us to have fun, make some extra money, and just help out our community.

It’s scary having some task you just don’t know how to do or just can’t do alone. I know that feeling. And it’s scary to ask for help.

Not everyone has the money for professional movers or whatever. Not everyone has someone in their life who can lend a hand.

And I don’t want anyone to feel alone, especially when they’re in a city like Philly that has so many great people and kind strangers (that’s right ALL OF YOU are kind strangers, not just us!).

We’re young and have some skills, but have lots of experience to gain. We can’t retile your roof or fix your plumbing, but we can help in all sorts of ways. We truly believe that if we help you, you’ll help us too.

Community is the word of the day everyday. It’s what makes Philly special. It’s what makes everywhere you go so much better. If we can even build up this community a little bit by helping one person, we believe that’s a job well done
